About Our Therapists

One of the co-founders of The Mana Tree, Anne-Lise has been a professionally qualified Aromatherapist for 12 years, being a full member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists. She has also been working with subtle energy for many years and her Chakra Balancing treatments are unique to The Mana Tree. She is also qualified in Pohaku Wela Lomi - the beautiful Hawaiian Hot Stone Massage. As a qualified teacher, Anne-Lise is currently developing our professional training courses.

Emma started her career as a beauty therapist, attaining the highest level of qualification achievable at The Yorkshire School of Beauty. Following a period of working in many prestigious establishments (Hoar Cross Health Farm and Leighton Denny’s Salon in London), she decided to retrain and became a professionally qualified Aromatherapist in 2001, having studied at the renowned Tisserand School of Aromatherapy. She is also a professionally qualified in Reflexology and Indian Head Massage.

Val is a professionally qualified Aromatherapist with a Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy from the Sue Lincoln School of Holistic Therapies. She is also a full member of The International Federation of Reflexologists with further diplomas in Indian Head Massage, Homeopathy and Nutrition. She is a qualified teacher and currently teaches Aromatherapy and Body Massage at Beverley College.

Liesel is our Reiki Practitioner having achieved a Master Degree in the Usui System of Natural Healing and being a Master Practitioner Member of the UK Reiki Foundation. She is also a skilled and inspirational teacher as anyone who has attended her popular Reiki Attunement courses here at The Mana Tree will agree. She also has a keen interest in Astrology and has recently qualified in Hopi Ear Candling.

Dave has been a crucial member of our team since The Mana Tree opened having already been a practising Medical Herbalist for many years. He is a fully-qualified Master Herbalist, Naturopath, Bowen Technician and Vega (Allergy Testing) Practitioner holding full membership of the Association of Medical Herbalists and The Bowen Therapists’ European Register. When he is not helping people to get well, he is happiest climbing up rock faces and other feats of daring doo!

Jane started her healthcare career as a nurse before training as a midwife. She has worked in many different settings, including rural Africa, and currently also works part-time in a midwifery led birth centre. Jane studied Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture for 3 years at The Northern College of Acupuncture, graduating to be member of The British Acupuncture Council. She is currently conducting a research project to complete her MSc in Acupuncture. She is also qualified in Colonic Hydrotherapy and a member of the Institute of Professional Colon Hydrotherapy.

Another co-founder of The Mana Tree, Lucy has also been a professional Aromatherapist for many years and is a Member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists.

Yvonne is a professional Aromatherapist with over 15 years experience and is a Member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists. She is also professionally qualified in Reflexology.

Heather Currey is a person-centered counsellor and psychotherapist. She qualified as a counsellor in 1996 and completed an MA in client-centered psychotherapy in 2006. She is a UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) registered practitioner and member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). She has had 20 years of work experience including The Warren Young People's Project, The Volunteer Bureau, MIND, Alcohol Advisory and Humberside University Student Counselling Service.
