Hopi Ear Candling

Ear Candling (or “Ear Coning” as it is sometimes known) has been used by the Hopi Pueblo tribe of South Western America since antiquity. The candles were (and still are) used for physical conditions as well as in their spiritual healing rituals. The candles are actually hollow tubes made from natural materials impregnated with pure beeswax, honey extract, traditional herbs and pure essential oils. They also contain a small filter designed to protect the ear canal from the wax and herbal powders as the candle burns.

The full Hopi Ear Candle experience takes approximately one hour and involves lying on your side while the therapist carefully places a candle in your ear and lights it. The warmth and vibration of the burning candle, in conjunction with the herbs and oils, is amazingly comforting and relaxing, soothing the area and encouraging the drainage of the sinus canals.

Exclusive to The Mana Tree, this treatment also includes a specialist face massage incorporating gentle work on the pressure points of the face to further encourage clearance and balance. A gentle massage of the head and neck also accompanies the treatment, stimulating circulation and the lymphatic system, which in turn strengthens the immune system.

The therapist will then examine the contents of the ear candles with you to assess the results and decide when/if another treatment would be appropriate.
